Biltmore Family Vacation

Well, we officially survived our first family vacation!! Yay! We took a few days and went up to Asheville, NC to see the Biltmore Estate. Liam did AMAZING in the car, we couldn't had asked for a better ride. It is hilarious the amount of stuff you have to pack when you leave the house with an infant. I honestly couldn't believe it myself. Nick kept saying..."are you sure we need to bring that" as I was packing practically everything the poor child owns. We ended up visiting during the spring flower festival at Biltmore which was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I haven't seen that many tulips in my life. Liam did great as long as he was in his stroller, however there are parts of the house that are not accessible with the stroller and we had to carry him in the baby carrier, he was not too big of a fan of that, so we did have a crying baby at times. But, overall I think that he did great!! It was a beautiful time of year and we had a perfect day to spend at the Estate. One thing that we did determine after staying in our hotel room for two nights was that we definitely need a king size bed! I was told that when we have children not to buy a crib, just invest in a king size bed, because that is where they will end up sleeping anyway. Now I believe that is a pretty good idea! Well, enjoy some of the pictures from our trip!! ;-)

Liam's First Easter!!

Liam's first Easter was just perfect. We had a wonderful time worshiping our Lord and had a great day spending time with family! It doesn't get much better than that! Nick had to play in the worship band all 4 services at our church, so Liam and I got up early and surprised Grandma and Grandpa at their church Sunday morning! They were happy to see us there, and excited to have the opportunity to show off their grandson a little bit! After that we made our way over to 12Stone to worship with our church family. We finished up the evening at our house with food and family, it was great!

My Little Easter Bunny

Well, by now I am sure you know to expect silly pictures for every holiday, so I did not want to let you down!! Enjoy!! You will notice that in some of the pictures there is grass, and most there is not. Well, notice the look on Liam's face in the one where I have him sitting in the grass... it is too funny! And, of corse, he tried to eat it, so that is no good either.

Seriously, Mom... Bunny Ears...
Yummy!!

He did NOT like how that grass felt!!

Five Months!

Yummy fingers

Laughing at me singing to him

Cute smiles

Hey Mom

We are almost at the 6 month mark, half a year, I can't believe it!!! Feeling blessed everyday! Not too much to update on since I filled everyone in after his appointment last week. I looked over his calendar for March and some of the highlights for this months were: he swang in the swing at the playground for the first time, sat up in the bumbo seat, sat in the exersaucer, started blowing bubbles with his mouth, tried rice cereal, and started reaching for toys!! I can't believe how fast they turn from a helpless little baby into a "real" little person, it is so fun to watch him grow and learn new things everyday! Oh, a little update on the bottle front. Liam was to the point where he was refusing a bottle so much that last weekend when I left him with my mom so I could go consignment shopping with a friend she had to actually feed him with a medicine dropper! Ridiculous, I know! Well, after trying MANY different bottles my friend Ali came to the rescue with a NUK bottle. He actually drank almost 4oz. out of the bottle for me yesterday with minimal screaming! Yay!! Baby steps. I am going to try at least one feeding a day with the bottle just to get him used to it again. I refuse to have a child who nurses until he is a toddler. It is funny the parenting ideals you have in your mind before your child is actually born. I think the first lesson every parent learns is to never say my child will never... fill in the blank... because the moment you say that, you will forever be eating your words! So, maybe Liam will nurse until he is three... wouldn't that be wonderful! **please note the sarcasm** Ahhh, the joys of motherhood!
