Liam's FIRST TOOTH!!, Granddaddy's 85th, and March of Dimes Walk

We had a busy and fun filled weekend. Friday night we celebrated one of our good friend Billy's birthday with some friends, and then we woke up bright and early Saturday morning for the March of Dimes Walk for Babies in Duluth. It was a beautiful day and my mom and sister walked with us too! Sunday was Nick's Granddaddy's 85th birthday, so we had a cookout and a party at his house to celebrate! It was a great time. And, the big news of the weekend was that Liam got his FIRST TOOTH!!! I could not believe it! He hasn't even been fussy or anything. He just woke up Sunday morning, and there it was. It made me kinda sad, I can't believe how fast he is growing and changing.
If you look really close you can see it peaking through the gums ;-)

Happy Feet and Cereal Success!!

Well, after weeks of trying we finally have success with the cereal!! Yay!! The first couple of days I just gave it to him in the morning in between his first two feedings, and then I started giving it to him twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. The first night I gave it to him he slept for 9 HOURS!!! 9 pm until 6 am. Needless to say he will be getting cereal in the evening from now on!! I was so excited when he actually ate it, but now it makes me kinda sad... just one more step towards a big boy ;-(. They really do grow up too fast!
Another new thing he has started doing is scooting on his back, and lifting his feet. When I put him on the floor to play with his little activity center he will bat at the hanging toys for a while, and then when he gets board with that he scoots himself back so he can kick at them with his feet... it is so cute. The other day I watched him scoot himself half way across the floor on his back. I am just afraid he is going to get rug burn on the back of his head, silly kid!
Yesterday we also went to the Pediatric Cardiologist because his Pediatrician was a little concerned because his respiration rate continued to be a little fast. They checked him all out, did an EKG, and an echocardiogram to look at his heart. He did so well, and the doctor said that everything looked perfect and that there is no need for us to come back!! Good news! Also, the doctor said that he is a "perfect example of a healthy breast fed baby". Yeah, a 22 POUND healthy breast fed baby!!! I could not believe it when they weighed him! I guess that is why my arms and shoulders are sore all the time!

Biltmore Family Vacation

Well, we officially survived our first family vacation!! Yay! We took a few days and went up to Asheville, NC to see the Biltmore Estate. Liam did AMAZING in the car, we couldn't had asked for a better ride. It is hilarious the amount of stuff you have to pack when you leave the house with an infant. I honestly couldn't believe it myself. Nick kept saying..."are you sure we need to bring that" as I was packing practically everything the poor child owns. We ended up visiting during the spring flower festival at Biltmore which was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I haven't seen that many tulips in my life. Liam did great as long as he was in his stroller, however there are parts of the house that are not accessible with the stroller and we had to carry him in the baby carrier, he was not too big of a fan of that, so we did have a crying baby at times. But, overall I think that he did great!! It was a beautiful time of year and we had a perfect day to spend at the Estate. One thing that we did determine after staying in our hotel room for two nights was that we definitely need a king size bed! I was told that when we have children not to buy a crib, just invest in a king size bed, because that is where they will end up sleeping anyway. Now I believe that is a pretty good idea! Well, enjoy some of the pictures from our trip!! ;-)

Liam's First Easter!!

Liam's first Easter was just perfect. We had a wonderful time worshiping our Lord and had a great day spending time with family! It doesn't get much better than that! Nick had to play in the worship band all 4 services at our church, so Liam and I got up early and surprised Grandma and Grandpa at their church Sunday morning! They were happy to see us there, and excited to have the opportunity to show off their grandson a little bit! After that we made our way over to 12Stone to worship with our church family. We finished up the evening at our house with food and family, it was great!
